Mời bạn đọc bài chia sẻ của cô về kinh nghiệm của mình tại CIP, môi trường học và các hoạt động ngoại khóa.

Hello! I’m Thao from Vietnam and I’d like to share my CIP experience with you!

In CIP, teachers are friendly, which helps students feel confident and comfortable to learn. When I expressed my ambition to focus on and strengthen my weaknesses such as speaking and academic vocabularies, they gave me positive suggestions, interesting books and other materials to learn. They were patient to correct my mistakes when I’m speaking, assisting me to improve my communication skills. I especially appreciated that me and my buddy teacher and other one-on-one teachers discussed topics that I requested, which helped me remember many academic words. In addition, I also understand that if a student doesn’t study by themselves at home, it will be difficult for them to gain more knowledge. Therefore, following the guidance of the teachers is linked with learning by yourself will be a good way to learn more. Furthermore, students can learn from friends. Chatting with friends and sharing information with them plays a vital role to improve one’s communication skill. That also means that you have to speak English as much as you can in school. Hence, improving all English skills stems from practicing everyday.

Study Environment

Although students in school are of different ages and nationalities, they are easy going. My roommate, for instance, she is warm and kind. Living with another nationality brings more experience about a different culture. This situation also teaches us about a sense of tolerance. Not only learning English, we also learn about social skills from teachers and friends. Therefore, it is a good experience.

Safety and Activities

I myself was a little bit scared before I came to the Philippines, but after two months I found that if I followed the Safety and Security Guidelines of CIP I could easily adopt with the new environment. My friends and I had some travelling around Angeles City, Manila and Subic. The memory of visiting an Elementary School and High School, namely Holy Family Academy, will be etched in my mind for a long time. We personally wrote a letter to their office to request a visit because we really wanted to know more about the education system in the Philippines. Fortunately, the principals in the school were enthusiastic teachers and allowed us to see their laboratories and libraries. Therefore, it helped us understand deeply Philippines’ education system. We also would like to thank CIP officers for giving us a chance to visit Holy Angel University, because of this we knew more about Philippine history. Lastly, we had a great time visiting historical places in Manila as well as enjoy our vacation in Subic Bay over the weekend. Even though we did not have much time to stay in these places, we loved our time in the Philippines!
